SWAT: Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan on Monday has inaugurated the project of Micro Hydroelectric Power Plant on Swat River in Kalam village of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan.
Imran Khan laid foundation stone of micro hydro power project which is believed to provide cheap electricity to Kalam people and adjoining areas along the upper reaches of the Swat River of Swat Valley by next year.
While addressing the inauguration ceremony, Imran Khan said that PTI’s agenda is about to make people independent, we will bring a new trend of government in the province and everyone will recognize the change.
Cricketer-turn-politician said, “Independent nations take their decision solely.”
He said that they are taking the steps to empower locals in making independent decisions instead of waiting for the ruling of Peshawar.
Commenting over the importance of local government system, PTI Khan said that poverty cannot be vanished until the establishment of powerful local governance.
According to PTI Khyber Pakhtunkhwa press release, Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf will develop 300 micro hydral sites, first-ever Mother Child Health Center in rural Swat and mobile lady doctor service for remote far flung areas.
