LAHORE: In line with its vision to help empower digital generation in the country, Telenor Pakistan is sponsoring Digital Punjab Conference being organized by the Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI) on August 24 at Expo Center Punjab.
The conference is part of The Lahore Shopping Festival-2013, which is an annual event of LCCI aimed at expediting economic and commercial activities.
The conference will highlight the role cellular technology can play in paving the way for ICT services subsequently helping the government in bridging the digital divide. The second session of the conference will be based on career counseling seminar and discuss best practices in the human resource development and management industry.
In a message, Irfan Wahab Khan, Chief Marketing Officer, Telenor Pakistan said, “Telenor Pakistan is proud to be associated with Punjab Digital Conference and committed to see communication services reaching remote areas as a way of facilitating development.” He also appreciated the government’s resolve to take communication services closer to the citizens in rural areas to accelerate socio-economic development in Pakistan.

Telenor Pakistan’s knowledge-based initiative ‘Telenor Talkshawk Internet Champion’ alone trained over 632,000 students across Pakistan (including 273,000 in Punjab) on the use of internet.
Chief Minister Punjab, Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif will be the chief guest at the conference. The conference will be attended by a number of top notch government officials and corporate sector professionals including Ministry of Information Technology; Punjab Board of Information Technology; Board of Investment; Ministry of Finance; Ministry of Agriculture and Ministry of Education.
