GADDANI: Pakistan’s first energy park with a capacity up to 5000 to 6600 MegaWatt will be facing its groundbreaking till the end of 2013 or in early months of 2014.
The Energy Corridor is being built at Gaddani, a far flung district of restive province of Balochistan.
Reviewing the project, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif directed authorities to expedite work on the corridor for its early completion.
“We should build another energy corridor in Thar,” he said while talking on the ceremony.
“We should set a 20 year vision of producing up to 50,000 MW energy instead of being content on our highest level of production of 16,000MW.”
“On one side, power production has been on rise, but on the other side, demand has also been on rise.”
The premier once again mentioned of laying road infrastructure in the country including a 6-lane Motorways between Karachi and Lahore, Gwadar to Kashgar Trade Corridor, the biggest ever project in the national history, and many others.
