ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s leading party Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) has imposed restriction on all parliament members for leaving the country on Friday. The declaration came after the release of presidential election schedule.
Pakistan’s leading party Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) has banned foreign visit for all of its parliament members after the issuance of Presidential Election’s schedule by Election Commission of Pakistan.
The directive said that all PML-N members of National Assembly, Provincial Assembly, and Senators are disallowed to leave country due to upcoming election while those members who are in foreign countries have got instruction for an immediate return to Pakistan.
Meanwhile, Nawaz Sharif chaired high level meeting underway for finalising the candidates’ for the president post and shortlisted 6 names including Sartaj Aziz, Mamnoon Hussain, Saeed uz Zaman Siddiqui, Ghous Ali Shah, Mehtab Abbasi and Iqbal Zafar Jhagra.
Finalised candidate for presidential post will be announced on July 24 after the approval of PML-N’s chief while a five-member committee will meet several political parties for gaining their confidence.
