ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a statement on Monday for condemnation of US drone attack in North Waziristan, the tribal region of Pakistan.
US drone strike took place in Mir Ali Tehsil of North Waziristan Agency late on the night of 13 July 2013 that had killed two two suspected militants.
“These unilateral strikes are a violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Pakistan has repeatedly emphasized the importance of bringing an immediate end to drone strikes”, the statement said.
The statement added that Pakistani government has consistently maintained that drone strikes are entail loss of innocent civilian lives and have human rights and humanitarian implications while the strikes also set dangerous precedents in the inter-state relations.
Pakistan clarified that drone strikes have a negative impact on the mutual desire of both countries to forge a cordial and cooperative relationship and to ensure peace and stability in the region.
