ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has strictly refused to waive tax dues of the country’s biggest, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA).
Pakistan’s FM has denied for accepting PIA officials requests for waiving the Rs8 billion tax dues of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and continuation of blocked accounts.
Moreover, the minister rejected summary of Rs26 billion received by the airline officials pertaining purchasing of 10 new planes and other financial needs.

Finance Minister Ishaq Dar said, “It’s not your money but the money comes out from the pockets of the people which you received and you have to submit it.”
He added, “Send us another summary for other needs in which each section should be clear and without any ambiguity, the decision for approval will be finalised afterwards.”
PIA received directions from Dar to present new summary before Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) next session for planes’ purchasing and other financial needs of the organization.
