ISLAMABAD: Unbearable resistance from dual-post holders finally forced PTI Chairman Imran Khan to suspend the decision on restricting joint post holding for some days at least.
Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan has delayed the decision and said that dual-post keeping conclusion will not be applicable until central executive committee’s session.
Earlier on July 10, PTI’s Central Executive Committee has restricted the leaders to hold party posts further more who are now serving in Khyber Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) government after being elected.
PTI formed Chief Election Commissioner of the Hamid Khan-led special committee has finalised the decision while the members include Firdous Naqvi, Imran Ismail, Ali Zaidi and Dr. Abul Hasan.
According to sources, PTI chief faced extreme resistance over the committee’s decision over the restriction on holding dual-positions and the resistance forced Imran Khan to freeze it.
PTI chief has released his statement that we respect the independency of election commissioners of each political party and we will not interrupt in any phase of decisions but interpretation of the decision is due.
Khan said that there are different opinions found in our party on the certain issue while our constitution is silent about it.
Khan added that final decision will be taken after a brief discussion in PTI’s Central Executive Committee meeting which has authority to amend constitution.
