ISLAMABAD: Stepping forward to get rid from the menace of extreme electricity shortage, Pakistan’s federal government has finalised new energy policy in order to reduce the load shedding across the country.
According to the new policy, productivity of electricity will be increased up to 26,800 Mega Watts in coming 3 years while the average production cost of Rs14.67 will be pulled down to Rs10.
Concerned officials will present the conclusive presentation regarding new energy policy.
The prime minister of Pakistan will formally announce the implementation details of the energy policy after gaining confidence of all provinces in the session of joint interests council, scheduled on July 29.
The policy makers emphasized for a significant 30% reduction in the production cost of electricity as well as focusing to vanish the load shedding issue in each area of the country.
The sources said that current production of electricity is 12,200 Mega Watts while it will be increased up to 26,800 which definitely eliminate the energy crisis in both residential and industrial sectors.
The police will consist of four key points including reducing demand and supply differences, availability of lowest cost electricity to the consumers, investments in energy sector and prevention of electricity stealing.
Earlier, Finance Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province Siraj-ul-Haq said that KPK have an ability to produce significant amount of 25000 mega watts.
