KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) member of provincial assembly (MPA) Sajid Qureshi has been killed along with his son in a targeted attack carried out by unknown miscreants on Friday.
Unidentified assailants on motorcycle carried out the attack on MQM’s Sajid in North Nazimabad area of Karachi when he came out of Al-Huda mosque along with his son after offering Friday prayer.
According to police sources, two of his sons were also present with Qureshi while the elder son, Waqas Qureshi, has also been killed when he tried to save his father by the attack.
The sources added, Sajid Qureshi and his son Waqas Qureshi lost their lives while they were being shifting to a nearby private hospital.
Some eyewitnesses told the TNT representative that Rangers check post is already situated near place where the attack was carried out but nobody was present at that moment when the deadly incident took place.
It is pertinent to note, pillion riding is restricted in Karachi for months due to several terrorism attacks in past but mostly targeted attacks are being carried out by motorcyclists.
Sajid Qureshi was elected from 103 constituency of the Sindh Assembly.
