PESHWAR: Two polio campaigners killed in an attack on Sunday in Swabi of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province of Pakistan .
The incident took place in Pabaini village of Swabi district when unknown miscreants attack on the workers busy in polio eradication campaign.
The sources said that both polio workers were killed in the area of Kandaro while the police officials have confirmed the deaths.
According to police sources, four persons have been arrested in suspicion of connection with the attack and police interrogation is still underway.
The police sources added that the deceased workers were performing duty without any security and they were identified as a school teacher Muhammad Shiraz and an official of health department Aziz Muhammad.
Rescue teams have reached the affected area and shifted the dead bodies to the nearby hospital while security forces have cordoned off the whole area to start a search operation.
