QUETTA: National Party’s Dr Abdul Malik Baloch has been elected as Chief Minister of Balochistan on Saturday as not a single opponent submitted nomination papers for the post.
Pakistan’s leading party Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakhtun-khwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) had announced support for the National Party’s candidate for Chief Minister post.
It is pertinent to note, the nominations for the post were to be submitted on June 8 from 10am to 2pm while the election was to be conducted on June 9 but no one filed as nominee to challenge Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch hence he has been elected as CM Balochistan.
Moreover, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazal-ur-Rehman (JUI-F)’s leader Maulana Abdul Wasay met Dr. Baloch in order to discuss common interest and political situations of the provincial setup and further announced support to Dr. Baloch.
