ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party leader Farooq H Naek has resigned from the seat of leader of the House in Senate following defeat of his party in general elections.
“It is prerogative of new prime minister to appoint new leader of the House,” Naek said while resigning from the post.
In a statement issued from his office‚ PPP leader and a prominent lawyer was of the view that new Prime Minister would nominate leader of the House.
“Therefore there is no reason for him to continue as leader of the Upper House,” he further said.
