Peshawar: Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf’s Asad Qaiser has been elected as the speaker of Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa unopposed with Shahid Qureshi as deputy speaker.
According assembly officials, no nomination was made against Asad while Shahid Qureshi had to contest with Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz Arbab Akbar Hayat; however, latter one had to face the defeat.
Asad Qaiser was earlier emerged as a strong contender for slot of chief minister of KPK; however, Pervez Khattak was later nominated as future CM of the province.
PTI has claimed to run a ‘model’ government in the province to develop a ‘Naya’ KPK for people.
Wave of terrorism, power crisis, corruption and mismanagement are some of the big issues which new KPK government has to face in upcoming days.
