HANGU: Polio female campaigner injured on Wednesday by stoning from unknown miscreant in Tal district of Hangu town.
Continuation of anti-polio campaign is getting more difficult as various incidents of attacks carried out against the workers around Pakistan.
In recent incident, some miscreants threw stones over the campaigners which resulted injuring a female worker busy in the anti-polio campaign in Khyber Pakhthkhwa’s town of Hangu.
According to police sources, the campaign is still going on in the area while security has been increased after this embracing event.
The injured was shifted to the hospital by rescue workers for initial treatment but the campaigners are still working under fear of attacks.
Previously, World Health Organisation (WHO) appealed on Tuesday for cooperation in running polio eradication campaign in Pakistan from the religious circles.
