Karachi: Pakistan Peoples Party has nominated Qaim Ali Shah as the next chief minister of southern province of Sindh.
Party president Makhdoom Amin Fahim announced the name of next CM.
According to party sources, the decision was taken the PPP’s parliamentary committee. Earlier names of PPP leaders Owais Muzaffar Tappi, a close friend of President Asif Ali Zardari, and Makhdoom Jameeluz Zaman, son of Amin Fahim, were emerged as strong candidates for the seat of CM.
PPP is in talks with its former ally Muttahida Qaumi Movement with chances are high that both will form a coalition government in the province, facing a worst lawlessness scenario for last many years.
A coalition of 10 political parties has been formed in Interior Sindh, where PPP has strong vote base, to give tough time to the next provincial government in assembly.
Similarly Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf will have its three members in the provincial assembly for the first time. Â Together with Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz and PML-Functional, PTI could proved to be a strong opposition group in the assembly.
