Mirpur, Kashmir: After street violence allover the city, federal authorities have exempted Mirpur district Kashmir from power load-shedding.
Since morning, mobs have taken to the streets and have paralyzed the whole city against power outages reaching 10 to 18 hours a day.
Taking notice of the situation, federal officials have asked Water and Power Development Authority to exempt Mirpur district from the load-shedding.
The nuclear state, a home to over 180 million, has been facing a spiralling power crising with officials themselves accepting up to 18 hours power outages in rural areas while nine to 14 hours outages in urban parts of the country.
