KARACHI: Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) has sent its prominent leader Shahbaz Sharif to Karachi on Saturday to gain political influence in Sindh province of Pakistan.
Former Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif has arrived in Karachi to hold meetings with the leaders of different political parties.
While talking to media on Jinnah International Airport on a question regarding political merger in upcoming government with Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), he answered that he contacted Governor of Sindh Ishrat-ul-Ibad Khan and congratulated him on his party’s victory in general election.
He further clarified that PML-N will soon announce the party’s strategies for Sindh.
After leaving the airport, Shahbaz Sharif has reached to the residence of Pakistan Muslim League Funtional (PML-F) chief Pir Pagara.
During the meetings, Sharif and Pagara exchanged words on mutual interest as well as possibilities in formation of upcoming provincial and federal setups in Pakistan.
Shahbaz Sharif has invited PML-F chief to join them in the federal government with Pakistan’s largest elected party PML-N.
According to sources, Imtiaz Shaikh is named for the position of opposition leader in Sindh assembly.
PML-N, instead of aligning with PPP and MQM, is looking to build strong ties with nationalists parties in Sindh Province.
