KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain ordered his party workers on Tuesday to stop their demonstrations continued in Karachi until they receive his next order.
An emergency meeting has been called by Altaf Hussain for all working unit of the party including Muttahida Organising Committee (MOC), Labour Division, Karachi Tanzeemi Committee (KTC), Rabta Committee, Sindh Tanzeemi Committee and MQM’s women’s wing.
The special meeting is going to be organised in Azizabad’s Lal Qila Ground at 6m on Tuesday’s evening in which Altaf Hussain address to the party workers is expected.
Political stress seen in Karachi between two parties after the serious allegations placed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan when he named MQM chief Altaf Hussain for being involved in Zahra Shahid’s murder.
PTI has demonstrated yesterday on Mazar-e-Quaid in the presence of Imran Khan’s sibling Aleema Khan and demanded to arrest the persons involved in PTI founding member Zahra Shahid’s murder.
Meanwhile, hundreds of party workers took part in MQM organised demonstrations around Sindh province against the Imran Khan’s statement in which they demanded the PTI chief to apologise on character assassination of Altaf Hussain.
