ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf decided to nominate its prominent leader Asad Umar to contest on Javed Hashmi’s vacant seat of NA-48 constituency in Islamabad as Hashmi decided to keep his Multan’s national seat.
According to sources, PTI chairman Imran Khan took the decision after consulting various party leaders to name Asad Umar on NA-48.
PTI President Makhdoom Javed Hashmi secured 32,533 votes against 13,861 polled by Anjum Aqeel Khan of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
Asad Umar joined the Imran Khan led party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf after resigning from Engro Corporation.
The business expert Umar provided his professional services for 8 years as CEO & President of the company as well as in 2010, he received Sitara-i-Imtiaz on business achievements.
