Karachi: It seems that opinion of some analysts have been coming true who were saying there is a intentional or unintentional alliance between Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI).
Earlier this morning, a heavyweight candidate of PPP from Sialkot, Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan, withdrew in favour of PTI’s candidate Usman Dahir.
“This is not the first sign, as there were already many omens showing a that there is an alliance of PPP and PTI against Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz,” says Rauf Tahir, columnist in a leading Urdu Newspaper, while talking on a news channel.
From PMLN, Khawaja Muhammad Asif is contesting from NA-110 constituency of Sialkot. Now he will be facing only PTI’s Usman Dahir.
“This may be a tactic to avoid dividing votes of PPP and PTI against Khawaja Asif,” says Hamid Mir in the same program.
A tough poll competition is expected today in urban areas of the largest province of the country, Punjab, between PTI and PMLN. However, some political commentator believe that PPP could also grab a chunk of national assembly seats.
