Karachi: Alleging rigging in polling stations across Karachi, Dr. Farooq Sattar says polling process started three and half hours late in over 350 polling stations of the city.
“At some polling stations there is no staff and at some polling stations there is no ballot paper,” Muttahida Qaumi Movement leader said addressing a press conference at his party’s headquarter.
He was of the view that police and rangers personnel were disturbing the polling process.
“In our stronghold areas, complaints are in larger quantity. It is an intentional effort to damage mandate of MQM.” he further said.
MQM is considered as the largest party in the country’s biggest city; however, it has been challenged by newly emerged Pakistan Tehrik Insaf and Jamaat e Islami which may affect mandate of the party.
Dr. Farooq Sattar said that Election Commissioner of Pakistan had been informed about the polling disturbances in the city.
