KOHAT: At least eight people were killed and 25 others injured in blast outside a election office of an independent candidate in Kohat district of Pakistan Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa province.
According to a state television, the incident took place in Kacha Pakka area on Hangu road where an election cell of Syed Noor Akbar, an independent candidate for NA-39, targeted.
Heavy contingent of security forces cordoned off the area while injured and dead have been shifted to nearby hospital.
Sources said that the death toll could be raised as some of the injured are in critical condition.
Dilawar Bangash, the DPO Kohat, said that it could be a planted blast.
The bomb disposal squad said that the bomb was planted in a tin, adding the 10-kg explosives were used in the blast.
