LAHORE: The menace of measles shows relentless persistence as three more children lost their lives to the fatal disease in the provincial capital on Wednesday (today).
The deaths in Meo Hospital, Lahore caused the toll to touch 45-mark and create an increasingly threatening situation in the province.
According to hospital sources, the number of children losing their lives to measles has reached 11 in the current week. The number of affected in the province has touched the mark of 8,500.
The situation has perturbed and anguished the parents, who are found questioning the inaction of the government and unavailability of vaccination to tackle the problem.
The health condition calls for emergent measures by the authorities, who seem least concerned on the unabated deaths in the provincial capital.
