Karachi: A special prosecutor in Shahzeb Murder case has filed a request for 10-day holiday after he was facing immense pressure from influential personalities to detach himself from the case.
Speaking to media on Friday, Muntazir Mehdi claimed that he was suffering from blood pressure and depression after immense pressure was put on him due to the high-profile case.
“Immense pressure is being put on me from different influential personalities,” he said adding that some people were trying to influence the case.
He further said that he had requested prosecutor general to detach him from the Shahzeb murder case.
Meanwhile, the anti-terrorist court, which is hearing the murder case, was not able to contact the special prosecutor and had directed relevant authorities to replace the prosecutor.
