MULTAN: PPP leader Jamshed Dasti has announced to contest election from NA177 and 178 constituencies in Muzaffargarh, shortly after he was released from the central prison, here on Thursday (today). The former MNA was released after his imprisonment was annulled by the Multan bench of Lahore High Court.
The activists and supporters of Dasti gathered around him and lauded the judiciary for the ‘just’ verdict to free their leader.
Earlier, the politician was sent behind bars for three years and fined rupees 5,000 over possessing fake degree.
Dasti had been in the headlines for his alleged rivalry within the party with the former foreign minister, Hina Rabbani Khar.
