Peshawar: Awami National Party (ANP) leader Arbab Ayub Jan escaped an assassination attempt in Peshawar, a metropolitan of Pakistan, after a roadside bomb went off close to his car.
Arbab Ayub, an election candidate for the former ruling party of the province, is contesting on the seat of NA-4 Peshawar. 23 candidates have filed their nomination papers from the constituency.
According to sources, the election candidate narrowly escaped the assassination attempt near Tarnab farm house in the city but his guard sustained injuries in the attack.
No one has yet claimed the responsibility of the attack but TTP has threatened to carry out attacks on three major secular parties of the country including ANP.
