KARACHI: Around 10 political, religious and nationalist parties have decided to make an alliance for general election against the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) in Sindh province.
It is expected that the parties including Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N), Pakistan Muslim League Functional (JUI-F) and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) and Sindhi nationalist parties would make the announcement pertaining to the alliance on Thursday (today).
Sources said that during the meeting held on Wednesday, the parties decided to bring joint candidates against the MQM on all provincial and national assemblies’ seats.
They said that the PML-N would be given one National Assembly (NA) and four Provincial Assembly’s (PA) seats and the JUI-F would be given three NA and six PA seats while the Jamiat Uleam-e-Pakistan (JUP) would get two NA seats and eight PA seats.
The JI would be given the most seats with eight NA and 20 PA. “PML-F to be supported on four NA and eight PA seats,” the sources said.
