Lahore: Several actresses, singers and even eunuchs submitted their nomination forms to contest general election in Pakistan this year. In another surprise move, Chacha Mushtaq, a peddler, has announced to contest polls for a provincial assembly seat from Punjab province of the country.
Chacha Mushtaq will submit his nomination papers — he got on Saturday — to returning officer in Muzaffargarh district of the province for PA-254 on Sunday.
Chacha, an Urdu term used for uncle in Pakistan, says he is selling chickpeas by travelling in the streets since 1940. “I am confident to win MPA seat from PA-254,” said the peddler, who was elected as labour councilor in ex-President Pervez Musharraf era.
Musharraf had invited Chacha to Islamabad when he was elected as councilor.
