KARACHI: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) has declared Muhammad Ali Aamir, a witness in Shahzeb Khan murder case who retracted his earlier statement, a ‘liar’.
However, B. N. Qureshi, the counsel of Aamir, has filed a power of attorney in the court for challenging the remark that declared his client a ‘liar’.
During the hearing the murder case here, Judge Ghulam Mustafa Memon of the ATC-III remarked that Muhammad Ali Aamir recorded his false evidence in favour of the accused on March 25.
Two prosecution witnesses, — Sheharyar Ali and Mohammad Ali Amir — had deviated from their respective statements earlier given to police in which they had held prime accused Shahrukh Jatoi and others accused responsible for the incident when they did not identify any of them before an anti-terrorism court conducting the murder trial.
Shahrukh Jatoi, Nawab Siraj Ali Talpur, his younger brother Nawab Sajjad Ali Talpur and their house servant Ghulam Murtaza Lashari have been charged with killing 20-year-old Shahzeb in Defence Housing Authority on the night of Dec 24, 2012.
