Lahore: Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif on Tuesday asked opposition leader in the provincial assembly, Raja Riaz, to give names for the interim CM in the province.
In a letter written to Raja Riaz, the CM Punjab said that he had written the letter to consult the opposition leader over the appointment of interim chief minister.
The PML-N named Khawaja Zaheer, a bureaucrat, and Justice (retd) Amir for the interim chief minister of the province.
Sharif further said that the opposition leader should mention names after consultation with other opposition groups.
Talking to media, Riaz said that he had received two letters from the CM Punjab. In one letter, he asked me to give names for interim CM while in the other, he applauded my efforts as a opposition leader in the house, he added.
