Karachi: Governor Sindh Ishratul Ibad on Thursday night arrived Karachi, a metropolitan of Pakistan, after Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain directed him to withdraw his resignation from the post of governorship.
Talking to media at Karachi airport, Ishrat said that he decided to quit as the governor as he was not able to tackle the situation between the MQM and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).
“I told President regarding my decision and left for Dubai, where Zardari sent Interior Minister Rehman Malik, who convinced me that my presence in the city was necessary for maintaining peace, “he said.
He further said that Altaf Hussain contacted him via telephone on Wednesday evening and discussed the current situation and asked him to join his post and fully use skills to maintain peace across the province.
“I want complete blessing of Altaf Hussain and President Zardari to fully perform my duties.”
