Karachi: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain on Wednesday asked Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ibad to immediately withdraw his resignation.
It is to be mentioned here that the Governor Sindh submitted his resignation to President Asif Ali Zardari after MQM decided to left the PPP-led coalition government in federal and provincial assembly.
Talking to the governor via telephone, Husain said that he was continuously pressurized by the government officials to ask the governor for the withdrawal of his resignation.
“President Zardari and other people have been asking me for the withdrawal of the governor’s resignation,” he said.
MQM chief further directed Ishratul Ibad to withdraw his resignation for the sake of peace in Karachi and other parts of the province.
“It is in the interest of the province that governor shall withdraw his resignation and continue his efforts for the progress of the province,” Hussain added.
