Islamabad: Pakistan’s Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Saturday said that Pakistan would formally request Interpol to give custody of Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militant Moulvi Faqeer, who was arrested by the Afghan forces from the Pak-Afghan border.
Giving a speech in Islamabad, the interior minister said that said, “We are today referring the matter to Interpol to handover Moulvi Faqeer to Pakistan as he was involved in several terror attacks inside the country,” he said.
The interior minister further said that Punjab government should take action against the outlawed elements of the banned outfit Lashkar-i-Jhangvi (LeJ).
“Terrorists are sitting in their safe heavens in Punjab,” he added.
Malik further added that the Taliban were not serious in peace talks adding that they had always called for negotiations when they suffered from their losses.
