Peshawar: The son the slain Punjab Governor Salman Taseer, Shahbaz Taseer, has been released by the Pakistani Taliban militants on Saturday.
Shahbaz Taseer was abducted from Lahore on 26 August, 2011. Taseer had left his house from Cavalry Ground in his silver Mercedes Kompressor (LZT-1) for his office around 10:15am. Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore said his car was intercepted by a black SUV and motorbike around 600 yards from the office and up to three men dragged Taseer out of the car and took him away.
According to ARY News, the release of Shabaz Tasser came after the finalization of a deal between the militants and the family of the captive.
Taseer had left the country soon after being release from the captivity of the militants, the sources further added.
Meanwhile, the wife Shahbaz Taseer, Maheen Taseer has denied any such news and heavily criticized ARY News for publishing a fake news which would endanger the life of her husband.
In a message posted on Twitter, Maheen said, “The news on ARY about Shahbaz is absolutely untrue. I wish people had some humanity in them and not publish wrong information to cause harm.”
The wife of slain Salman Taseer has also denied the roprts and tweeted, ” Highly irresponsible and damaging of ARY to run this false news report abt Shahbaz’s release based on dubious sources.”
