Rawalpindi: At least three people including policeman and two brothers were killed in a firing incident during search operation in Kataraian area in Rawalpindi.
Police sources said that unidentified men opened fire on a police party when it conducted a search operation in the area on a tip-off that some suspects are present there. Resultantly, Assistant Sub-Inspector Hassan Naeem died and another policeman injured.
The sources further said that two brothers Jamshed and Sajjad also died in the incident.
According to police the civilians were alleged attackers and their uncle Malik Shumail has been taken into custody from Holy Family Hospital.
