Karachi: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Thursday staged walkout from Sindh Assembly during an in-camera briefing to the provincial lawmakers on the violent situation in Karachi.
MQM staged walkout from Sindh Assembly session after Sindh law ministry ordered to withdraw 34 cases filed during the Lyari operation in Karachi, a metropolitan of Pakistan.
Giving a briefing to media outside the assembly, MQM leader Dr Sagheer Ahmed said that the party staged walk out from the assembly session in protest of withdrawing cases against Lyari gang war criminals.
“We have conveyed our message to the Law Minister Ayaz Soomro but he had not paid any heed to our message,” he added.
He further said that the PPP has raised questions on the coalition with MQM and if it continues we would be forced to reconsider our coalition with the PPP.
According to sources, the provincial law ministry ordered District Public Prosecutor South to withdraw 34 cases filed during the operation against gang war criminals in Lyari.
The cases were filed on Sardar Uzair Jan Baloch, Habib Jan, Zafar Baloch, Noor Mohammad aka Baba Ladla and several other criminals.
