Islamabad: At least 17 people including women and children were killed and several others injured in different rain and snowfall-related incidents across Pakistan.
According to reports, two girls died and four others including a husband and his wife injured when a roof of house caved in in Badhu Samarbagh, the outskirt of Peshawar city.
Due to heavy rain during law two days in Haripur district of Khyber Pakhtooknwa province, flood water took away five people of a family including two women and three children. Local people rescue one person of them and recovered body of a one child while four others of the family are still missing.
Another girl, 12, was electrocuted in Hattar area of the district.
In Swabi, two brothers were killed and eight others injured due to a roof collapse in Afghan refugees camp. Â One person died due to roof collapse in Nowshehra district of the KPK.
A house roof collapse incident also took one life in Charsada area and injured two others.
Police said that four people died due to an avalanche in Khel Amnoi area of Shangla district of the province. They added that the rescuers were facing difficulties due to an ongoing snowfall and rain.
In another incident, one person died when a car fell into a gorge in the district while another person died when roof of a house caved in.
Correspondents from Punjab reported that three people including a young boy also died in rain-related incident in the province.
Over 200 sheep also died in Bhakhar area when a roof of a government livestock form foundered, a television report said.
