Karachi: An anti-polio campaign that was to begin from Monday in Karachi has been postponed because of the deteriorating security of the financial hub of Pakistan.
Karachi EDO Health Dr Imdadullah Siddiqui said that scarcity of health workers and disturbing law and order of the city prompted the authorities to put off the campaign.
The three-day campaign was scheduled to start in Karachi and the rest of the province of Sindh from February 4-6.
The EDO said that shortage of security personnel, who have been assisting Election Commission workers in the voter verification process, was another reason of the postponement.
