Perth: West Indies captain Darren Sammy won the toss and elected to bat first against Australia in the teams’ opening limited-overs international at the WACA Ground on Friday.
Fast bowler James Faulkner will make his international debut and was handed his ODI cap by former bowling great Dennis Lillee, a West Australian.
The West Indies have won 10 of their 17 one-day internationals at the WACA. The teams will play five one-day matches in the series, including another Sunday in Perth.
