Islamabad: Investigation officer in Shahzeb Khan murder case on Tuesday told the Supreme Court of Pakistan that Shahrukh Jatoi, the prime accused in the case, fled the country after giving money to porter.
A three-member bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry resumed the hearing of the case.
During the hearing, Mobin Shah, the investigation officer, told the bench Jatoi bribed the porter to leave the country, adding that they were not being allowed to include the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) deputy director and in charge in the investigation.
Shahid Hayat, the DIG police, said that Shahrukh had flown abroad on Dec 27, 2012 with the help of porter.
On this, the CJ remarked that how a porter could be as powerful, adding that the porter was being made scapegoat.
The CJ added that those who had aided Shahrukh in fleeing the country should also be arrested.
Hayat ensured the court that investigation would be transparent.
The court later adjourned the hearing till Feb 4.
