Losing gradually the dominance in smartphone market must have alarmed executives of Apple, though its quarterly revenue is unmatched so far.
But a large variety of smartphones, models and affordable pricing have been paying to Samsung who has surpassed Apple in selling the smartphones.
There are some rumours that Apple is seriously considering of reshaping its pricing strategy especially for its flagship iPhone series to compete lower priced smartphones of Samsung and other manufacturers.
Apple at present is charging $199 for iPhone 5, $99 for iPhone 4S and nothing for iPhone 4 with carriers, but still expert consider it ‘too expensive’ for masses to buy an iPhone.
According to Wall Street Journal, Apple bosses are considering manufacturing lower-priced iPhone in future to compete in the market.
The report said that dynamics of iPhone would remain the same however, the outer body could be switched to plastic material instead of aluminum.
iPhone 5’s body is made of aluminum housing and if Apple is considering to introduce lower priced smartphone then it could adopt polycarbonate plastic keeping it elegant as usual.
According to iDownBlog, any price from $ 200 to $ 300 for next iPhone then it could reshape smartphone market share.
“Especially in large markets like China and India where no-contract deals are much popular than contract-based purchase, this price could be successful,” it added.
iPhone 6 expected features
Next iPhone may have many new features like Flexible Display, Tactile Keyboard, Laser Microphone/Speakers and many more to compete with Samsung’s S4 who is edging right now with supposed features like S Pen, Wireless Charging and Exynos 5.
Another unique that is likely to be with Apple’s iPhone 6 is fingerprint sensor.
According to AppleInsider, “Apple is expected to launch a new iPhone this year with a fingerprint sensor hidden beneath the home button — an intuitive design that could be difficult for competing Android and Windows Phone devices to copy.”
