Islamabad: A preliminary autopsy report of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) investigation officer Kamran Faisal, who was found dead in his home, says that he committed suicide.
The report is released on Saturday by a board comprising three doctors at the Poly Clinic Hospital.
The board termed the death suicide as no marks of tortured were found on Faisal’s body.
“We can confirm that he [Faisal] died of strangulation,” said Dr Shaukat Hameed.
The team has sent samples to a forensic lab for further investigations and the final is expected next week.
The final report will also check whether the NAB official took anti-depressants pills that led to his suicide.
Faisal’s relatives claimed earlier that he was tortured before death as there were bruises on his arms, wrists, and neck.
Faisal’s father Abdul Hameed also rejected the post-mortem report and urged authorities to form a judicial commission to probe his son’s death.
Faisal had been working with another NAB investigation officer Asghar Khan to investigate into a multi-billion Rental Power Projects case against Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf.
