Karachi: Unidentified men on Thursday gunned down Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) lawmaker Manzar Imam along with his three bodyguards in Karachi.
Sources said that the assailants shot dead Imam in Orangi Town area of Karachi. Rescue sources said that the incident occurred in Nishan-e-Haider Chowk of the area.
Imam was the member of provincial assembly and a leader of the MQM.
His three guards who lost their lives in the incident are Imran, Murad and Sajjad.
Following the incident, markets in Orangi Town area are being closed.
Earlier, tension gripped the Gulshan-e-Iqbal area after some unidentified men shot two students of Jamia Ehsanul Uloom to injure.
Maulana Akbar Saeed, the media coordinator of Ahlesunnat Waljamaat, told our correspondent that two students Mohammad Akhtar and Haris were injured in the attack and had been shifted to the Jinnah Hospital.
