Lahore: On one hand, the CNG stations have been announced to be reopened in the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad, while on the other, authorities in Lahore have denied any immediate resumption of the utility in the city.
MD Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Ltd. (SNGPL), Arif Hameed announced on Saturday that there are no chances of reopening of the facility in the running week. However, he said that there are chances that the stations will be opened on Tuesday or Wednesday.
He said that to provide the utility to domestic consumers is the top priority of the government. “If we’d provide gas to the CNG sector at this point, the entire system will be jeopardized”, he said.
Earlier, Chairman All Pakistan CNG Association, Ghayas Paracha had announced that about 100 CNG stations, that have individually acquired stay order from the court, will resume operation tomorrow (Sunday) at 6AM.
