Kotli: At least three people were killed and eight others injured when a jeep fell into gorge in Azad Kashmir on Sunday, sources said.
The sources said that the incident occurred in Majooma area of Kotli district when the jeep, coming to the district from Goi, fell into gorge due to over speeding while taking sharp turn. Resultantly, three people died on the spot and eight others injured, they added.
Rescue teams rushed to the spot and shifted the injured and bodies to District Headquarter hospital Kotli.
Pakistan and Azad Kashmir have one of the world’s worst records for fatal traffic accidents, blamed on poor roads, badly maintained vehicles and reckless driving.
