Lahore: Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam chief of his own faction, Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman on Saturday said that the meeting of Muttahida Mujlis-e-Aml (MMA) will be held in the first week of January 2013.
Giving a press briefing, the JUI-F chief said that five political parties would participate in the first meeting of MMA and the decision of including or excluding Jamat-i-Islami (JI) would be taken in the meeting.
Responding to the issue of Kalabagh dam, Fazl said that the Lahore High Court decision over the dam could not be implemented as no province had changed its stance over the issue.
“It is a technical issue but the political parties have made it a political issue,” he added.
The JUI-F chief said that he accepted the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) ruling in dual nationality case and JUI-F would not support any resolution in favour of dual nationality in the assembly.
He also said that he would never accept the postponement of the general elections adding that no one had consulted him on the formation of caretaker setup.
