Islamabad: Pakistan’s president Asif Ali Zardari will pay a visit to 15-year-old child rights activist Malala Yousafzai on his visit to the United Kingdom on Saturday.
The visit will remain confined to a meeting with peace activist girl, who is being treated at Birmingham’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital, The Express Tribune reports quoting its sources.
Foreign ministry officials have termed the visit as an unprecedented gesture by President Zardari, because the head of the state did not have any diplomatic activities in the UK other than meeting Malala, the report said.
The president will visit UK after a visit to Iran and will be accompanied by Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar.
Earlier, daughter of President Asif Ali Zardari, Asifa Bhutto Zardari telephoned Malala Yousafzai and inquired her health and expressed that President, Bilawal Bhutto, Bakhtawar Bhutto and the whole Pakistani nation pray for the recovery of Malala Yousafzai.
