Karachi: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) on Thursday tabled a resolution against the construction of the controversial Kalabagh Dam in the Sindh Assembly.
The resolution tabled by PPP legislator Imran Zafar Leghari prompted heated debate in the assembly with members from both sides criticizing the Lahore Hight Court (LHC) verdict on the construction of the dam.
Speaking on the occasion, Leghari said that Sindh had been victimized and they could sacrifice their lives against construction of Kalabagh dam.
PPP leader Shehla Raza said that the LHC had no jurisdiction to give verdict on such a controversial issue.
“It is the message of death from Lahore High Court to the three provinces,” she added.
Opposition leader in provincial assembly, Nusrat Sehar Abbasi and other opposition members also criticized the LHC verdict.
