Islamabad: The world’s largest telecom operator China Mobile’s Zong gaining confidence of new mobile users has topped cellular subscribers’ race during July-September, a report said.
During the time period Zong has added 1.2 million new users to its network to clinch the first spot while Norway’s Telenor is on second position with addition of 266,283 users to its network, Pakzindabad.com reports.
The report quoting Pakistan Telecommunication Authority says Ufone is on third position by adding more than 200,000 users. Mobilink added only 25,861 while Warid instead of adding lost more than 1 million customers during the period, the report added.
So the Zong Telecom is on the Top in the July-September Cellular Subscribers race. According to PTA, total number of cellular subscribers has crossed the 120 million mark.
According to the PTA, in total number of cellular subscribers till the end of Sept 2012;
• Mobilink is still on top with 36,073,988 Users.
• Telenor is on 2nd Position with 30,162,943 users.
• Ufone is on 3rd Position with 23,829,009 users
• Zong stands on 4th position with 17,801,032
• Warid is on 5th Position with 12,646,458 users.
The authority’s statistics show that the cellular industry of Pakistan has surpassed 120 million mobile subscribers.
