Karachi: PPP Deputy (Central) Information Secretary and Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon on Thursday said all the provinces except Punjab have already rejected the Kalabagh dam (KBD).
“Sindh, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assemblies had unanimously passed resolutions rejecting this project,” said the Minister in a statement.
He recalled that PPP chairperson and former prime minister Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto had staged a sit-in at Sindh- Punjab border near Kamoon Shaheed.
He said that PPP believed that strong federation is more important than Kalabagh dam for the country.
The Information Minister said that PPP is the political party that strongly believed and has been working for integrity of federation.
He was of the opinion that Kalabagh dam would harm the federation.
